subscriptions
When you subscribe to PRÉSENCE magazine, we collect your email address so that we can:
manage your subscription;
send confirmation and subscription-related messages;
deliver quarterly issues of PRÉSENCE magazine; and
send occasional PRÉSENCE stories or related editorial communications.
Newsletter subscriptions are managed through Buttondown.
In connection with subscription management and email delivery, Buttondown may process information including your email address, IP address, subscription timestamps, referrer information and information relating to email delivery or engagement. Buttondown states that subscriber information is used to provide its newsletter service and is not sold as an advertising asset.
Subscriptions use a confirmation process. You are not treated as a confirmed subscriber until you complete that process.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in our emails.
why we process personal data
We process personal data only where there is an appropriate reason to do so.
For newsletter subscriptions, this is principally your decision to subscribe and receive communications from PRÉSENCE.

Framer describes itself as a processor in relation to personal data collected by customers through Framer-hosted sites. Buttondown maintains a data-processing agreement covering, among other regimes, Switzerland and the GDPR.
how long information is kept
We retain personal data only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for any applicable legal or administrative requirements.
